SS 444 specifies the requirements for a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety management system.

What is SS 444?

SS 444 certification involves Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety management system. HACCP is a systematic and preventive approach to food safety that identifies, evaluates, and controls potential hazards at critical points in the production process. The HACCP system is designed to ensure the safety of food products by focusing on critical control points (CCPs) where hazards can be prevented, eliminated, or reduced to acceptable levels.

Why is SS 444 important?

Organizations certified under SS 444 have demonstrated their ability to effectively control and eliminate food safety hazards and to prevent the failure of food safety practices, saving them indirectly from loss or even from having to permanently close their doors as a result of food borne illnesses that, in some cases, can be fatal.
